COVID-19 has thrown a lot of things out of sorts this year, including academic conferences. Each year several faculty and graduate students from SIU’s Department of Communication Studies attend the National Communication Association’s convention, but this year they’ll be staying home and attending virtually.
Just one problem–how to handle the grad fair held there each year? The event allows students to visit tables from multiple schools offering graduate programs in communication. So, it’s going virtual as well with schools asked to produce promotional videos in lieu of tables. That’s where PRSSA comes in.
PRSSA took on the department as a client and was tasked with producing their graduate program promotional video for this year’s NCA convention. Team members are Haley Spiewak, Bragard Kizenga, Caitlin Link, and Matt Millbrandt. Working under advisement of department chair Sandy Pensoneau-Conway and graduate studies director Rebecca Walker, they finished the video just in time to submit it for the conference.
